I grew up in the farmlands of Northeastern Pennsylvania, where I spent most of my childhood buried in books and running through fields. Now my landscape is a little different, as I currently live in Cairo, Egypt. I work at the American University in Cairo and freelance as much as possible.
As a student at the University of Pittsburgh, I could typically be found holed up in the student newspaper office, where I worked for two years before heading the paper in 2016. During my tenure, the independent daily (Pittnews.com) we produced the first magazine in the paper’s history and nabbed an Associated Collegiate Press Pacemaker award. I also worked for PublicSource, an investigative, online news outlet in Pittsburgh, PA (publicsource.org) and on the metro desk at The San Antonio Express-News, the daily metropolitan out of San Antonio, TX (Express-news.com).
